Description

Napoleone Brewery and Ciderhouse is a creative space in the Yarra Valley where we craft and share small, fresh batches of beer and cider.

The history of beer in the Yarra Valley is believed to date back to the early 1800’s, when growing hops was a major farming activity in the region, then known as Coranderrk Mission.Whilst hop farms have disappeared today (except for the odd hop kiln remains), Napoleone is working hard to make sure beer is an important part of the Yarra Valley’s past, present and future.

So swing by the cellar door for a picturesque beer and cider experience! We are open 7 days from 10am and offer tasting paddles of beer and/ or cider for $12 but if you are just looking to chill out and have a few drinks, we also offer pots and pints too. Brewery Tours are also available for $20 a head which includes a tour and tasting which runs on Saturdays at 11.00 or by appointment. Bookings essential.

The Napoleone family are third generation fruit growers who originally began as orchardists back in the 1940’s and has been a family owned business since 1948. Now run by brothers Joe and Michael Jr Napoleone , their business Red Rich Fruits has blossomed into on of the biggest producers in Victoria growing several varietes of apples, pears and stone fruits and shipping out to markets all across Australia.

In 1987 the Napoleone vineyard was planted in Coldstream and 2001 saw the inaugural vintage of Punt Road Wines. As if that wasn’t enough, 2008 then saw the creation of Napoleone Cider which has gone on to win a slew of awards including Best Cider in 2014 for their Pear Methode Traditionalle Cider. Being passionate, small batch producers, the Napoleone’s attention then shifted to craft beer and 2014 saw the birth of Napoleone Brewers right next door to Punt Road Wines.

We also share our space with Meletos; a regional cafe and gourmet pizzeria offering intimate event space and  a boutique guest house. Headed up by Chef Neil Cunningham, Meletos sources local produce from all over the Yarra Valley and Victoria to bring you the best in seasonal dining with a carefully curated seasonal wine list offering the best of the Yarra and beyond.
